Victor Nee is the Frank and Rosa Rhodes Professor of Sociology at Cornell University. In 2006 he was awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, and was a Fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford and the Russell Sage Foundation.

Sonja Opper is the Gad Rausing Professor of International Economics and Business (with a focus on China) at Lund University. She is a Fellow at the Center of Economy and Society, Cornell University.
